Step into a prehistoric world of excitement and imagination at Adventure Valley Durham, where young explorers can embark on an epic Dinosaur Trail! As families journey through the park, children will uncover hidden clues scattered along the trail.
Each clue brings them closer to solving a secret word—and those who crack the code will be rewarded with their very own official Dinosaur Trail certificate to commemorate their adventure.
Highlights of Dino Week
- Throughout the day, guests will have the chance to meet and greet adorable baby dinosaurs, accompanied by the friendly and knowledgeable rangers
- These encounters offer fantastic photo opportunities and delightful sensory experiences, especially designed for younger visitors to engage with these gentle prehistoric creatures in a magical setting

Located on the outskirts of Durham, the full postal address is Union Hall Farm, Brasside, Durham. Average travel times are:

By bus:
There is a direct bus service operated by Gateshead Central Taxis and takes park guests from Durham City Centre to Adventure Valley. These services run daily from the No.62 at Durham North Road Stand B every hour.

Adventure Valley is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during term time from November 1st to April 1st. The site is also closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. From April 1st to November 1st, Adventure Valley is open 7 days a week.

- Monday: 10am - 4pm
- Tuesday: 10am - 4pm
- Wednesday: 10am - 4pm
- Thursday: 10am - 4pm
- Friday: 10am - 6pm
- Saturday: 10am - 5pm
- Sunday: 10am - 5pm
From 1st October 2024:
- All opening times remain the same, but are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This excludes children's holidays, such as Halloween which runs 10am - 5pm.
Dogs are not allowed at Adventure valley, with the exception of guide dogs.
Adventure Valley has disabled facilities and doors at ground level.
