Folk Off Festival 2025 at Alnwick Playhouse is a lively, family-friendly celebration of folk music and culture, running from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August 2025.

Set in the heart of Northumberland, the festival features an exciting lineup of renowned folk artists, interactive workshops, and performances that span traditional tunes, storytelling, and dance.

Festival Highlights:

  • Friday Night (29 Aug, 7:30–10:30pm) Kick off the weekend with Wild Cloudberries and Breabach, hosted by the charismatic Mary Hollins
  • Saturday Afternoon (30 Aug, 12:30–3:30pm): Enjoy performances by Cream Tees, Teddy Cuthbert, Tyneside Comhaltas, and more, including the Kelly Hendry School of Irish Dance and a beautiful Clarsach Harp Duo. MC: Alistair Anderson
  • Saturday Evening (30 Aug, 7:30–10:30pm): Get swept away by Bryony Griffiths & Alice Jones, Sally Ironmonger & Brian Carter, and The Reiver Divas, with MC Nigel Hammill
  • Sunday Afternoon (31 Aug, 12:30–3:30pm): Close the festival with the Voice Male Choir, Rapper Dancers, Silver Shanty Men, and more, hosted by Peter Armstrong

Is Alnwick Playhouse wheelchair accessible?

Alnwick Playhouse offers ramped wheelchair access to the front entrance. There are automatic doors at the front entrance and a low counter at Box Office. The café, The White Room and an accessible toilet can be found on the ground floor.

Lifts on ground floor level provide access to the Library, visitor Information, Studio Hub/Screen 2 on the lower ground floor and our auditorium/screen 1, bar and gallery space, situated on the first floor.

There are dedicated spaces for wheelchair users in both the performance spaces, screen 1 and screen 2. We are currently unable to offer wheelchair access to the bar, however they have accessible tables in the ground floor foyer and can serve drinks to you in the gallery space and/or auditorium.
