By car:

Alton Towers Resort is located between the M1 and the M6 motorways in Staffordshire, England.

Depending on your direction, the nearest motorway exits are:

  • M1 Northbound – Junction 23a
  • M1 Southbound – Junction 28
  • M6 Northbound – Junction 15
  • M6 Southbound – Junction 16

Please drive carefully in the area, as roads can be narrow, and there are pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders.

Some Sat-Nav systems may take you down a local farm track, so follow road signs for the last few miles.

By train:

  • Uttoxeter Train Station is the nearest station to Alton Towers (10 miles away).
  • Stoke-on-Trent Station (15 miles away) and Derby Train Station (25 miles away) are also options.

From these stations, you can take a taxi or bus to the resort.

By bus:

  • D&G Bus operates the X41 service from Stafford, Uttoxeter, and Alton Towers Resort.
  • Notts & Derby buses run the X52 service between Nottingham, Derby, and Alton Towers.

What do I need to know about the After-Dark Scares: Thrill Seekers' Evening Bundle?
  • You will receive two tickets - One for Theme Park entry, and one for the Thrills Combi. Please ensure you print or save both portions of your ticket
  • Essential Companion tickets for Theme Park entry are complimentary (with valid documentation).
  • All guests, including carers, require a full price paid maze ticket. The only exception is for wheelchair users who require physical assistance inside the maze, in which case one complimentary carer ticket will be provided.
  • Due to the nature and layout of the attraction, Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny's Revenge is not suitable for wheelchair users, and guests who rely on walking aids may also be restricted.
  • When entering COMPOUND, you WILL be split up from your group and therefore must be willing to complete the attraction alone.
  • You can experience these in any order and tickets can be scanned on your mobile. All attractions must be completed before 9pm. Please allow approximately 2 hours to complete all attractions.
