How to find us

By car:

Alton Towers Resort is located between the M1 and the M6 motorways in Staffordshire, England.

Depending on your direction, the nearest motorway exits are:

  • M1 Northbound – Junction 23a
  • M1 Southbound – Junction 28
  • M6 Northbound – Junction 15
  • M6 Southbound – Junction 16

Please drive carefully in the area, as roads can be narrow, and there are pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders.

Some Sat-Nav systems may take you down a local farm track, so follow road signs for the last few miles.

By train:

  • Uttoxeter Train Station is the nearest station to Alton Towers (10 miles away).
  • Stoke-on-Trent Station (15 miles away) and Derby Train Station (25 miles away) are also options.

From these stations, you can take a taxi or bus to the resort.

By bus:

  • D&G Bus operates the X41 service from Stafford, Uttoxeter, and Alton Towers Resort.
  • Notts & Derby buses run the X52 service between Nottingham, Derby, and Alton Towers.

What are the full terms & conditions for the Twice the Fun ticket?
  • Guests who purchase a valid "Twice the Fun" day ticket shall be entitled to one complimentary day ticket to an attraction of their choice. Subject to availability.
  • Offer is live until 23:59 GMT on 19 April 2026 ("Offer Period").
  • A specific "Twice the Fun" ticket must be purchased within the Offer Period in order to be eligible for this promotion.
  • To be eligible for this promotion, both visits must occur between 30 March 2026 and 15 May 2026, and both visits must be pre-booked with the relevant attraction.
  • Once a visit has occurred, the other linked ticket shall become non-refundable. Twice the Fun ticket offer is only available for tickets purchased online for Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and Thorpe Park.
  • Guests may choose to visit a different attraction on their second visit.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and both visits must be booked under the same name and attended by the same guests. Entry may be refused if the lead booker name does not match the name listed on the original booking.
  • Please keep the booking email from your first visit, as it may be required to verify your details for your second visit.
  • The lead booker may be required to provide proof of their identity on arrival to the attraction.
  • Guests under 90cm go free at Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and Chessington World of Adventures Resort. Guests under 120cm go free at Thorpe Park.
  • This promotion is not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
  • All ticket types are subject to attraction Terms and Conditions of Entry including ride, age and height restrictions.
