The Christmas ballet with a Welsh twist.

The Cardiff Christmas Festival opens with a festive classic, performed in the intimacy of a magical Spiegeltent.

Already a firm family favourite with those who attended the celebrated opening run in 2021, The Rubicon Dance Company presents its highly acclaimed full-length contemporary ballet of The Nutcracker - Wales’ first reimagining of its kind, featuring a rich cast of recognisably Welsh characters, including Uncle Idris, Bop Sheila & Bopa Linda and The Mari Lwyd!

Audiences are invited along for a magical ride through the Williams’ Family Christmas.  We are taken into a dream world of snowstorms!

Suitable for all ages.

Yes, The Spiegel Theatre has an area for push along wheelchairs.

Can I bring my dog to Cardiff Christmas Festival?

Dogs can not be admitted to any of the shows, with the exception of guide dogs. 

Are there any performances at Cardiff Christmas Festival for those with special needs or hearing disabilities?

Yes. The Snow Queen shows on Sunday Dec 14th at 12 and 3pm are designated as BSL and relaxed performances.
