How to find us

By car:

On A12 heading towards Colchester, it is important to by-pass Witham completely. Ignore all signs off the A12 until you see the sign to Rivenhall and Silver End. The major landmark is the left turn off the A12 by a large disused pub called the Fox. Take this turning signed to Rivenhall and Great Braxted. If you get to the Kelvedon turn off, you have gone too far.

Come to a T Junction: Turn Right following signs to Great Braxted and Witham. (You will see a brown sign for Braxted Park). Go under A12. Exactly 1 mile after taking the right turn and after going over a little hump backed bridge, you will encounter the Braxted Park Wall for the first time. Follow the sign to Braxted Park Estate (NOT Braxted Park Golf Course). i.e. follow road round to right leaving the wall on your left.

Exactly half a mile, later you will see the entrance to Braxted Park Estate.

What is a Twilight ticket?

Twilight tickets are reduced price entry tickets for people wishing to arrive during the last three hours of each day.

These tickets offer a budget-friendly way to enjoy everything the fair has offer, and also see the venue lit with festive lighting.

Can I go inside Braxted Park House?

The event takes place within the grounds of Braxted Park Estate, and not the house itself. There are no stalls situated within the house, which will be closed to the public.

Can I park at Essex County Christmas Fair?

Yes, there are two large capacity event carparks that will be tracked with roadway matting. Parking is free for all visitors.

Is Essex County Christmas Fair wheelchair-accessible?

The event is all on one level and there are tracked pathways across grass areas, where this allows and the shopping marquees all have hard flooring with an access ramp on one of the entrances.

However, the existing main pathways that run throughout the grounds are all gravel, which can be problematic for some wheelchair users, especially those with a smaller wheel width.

Due to the nature of the venue there are also some areas with uneven ground.

Are dogs allowed at Essex County Christmas Fair?

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted at this venue. This is to protect the abundant local wildlife populations that reside on the estate.

Can I buy food and drink at Essex County Christmas Fair?

Yes, a wide variety of quality food and drink options will be available to enjoy on site. Get in the Christmas spirit with festive tipples, warming hot drinks, German sausages, roasted chestnuts and delicious, sweet treats plus a selection of high quality food stalls.

Will Father Christmas be at Essex County Christmas Fair?

Father Christmas will be making appearances at regular intervals on all three days of the Essex County Christmas Fair.

He will be walking around the event, talking to visitors and posing for photo opportunities. If you need help finding him during your visit, please ask a steward, who will be able to help locate him.

There is no Santa’s Grotto, or individual family visits to Santa at this event.
