By car: 

Please use post code CM2 8FS to navigate to us, and enter through Hylands Park entrance off A414 Greenbury Way. Look out for signs for Highlands Estate one you have made the turn off of the A414 at the junction.

Go Ape Chelmsford can be reached by bus using route C4 First Buses, alighting at Lodge Road and walking down Paradise Road through to the underpass and into the park via the Writtle car park entrance.

What should I wear to Treetop Adventure at Go Ape Hylands Park?

We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather so bring along a mac if it’s raining!

You need to make sure you have the correct footwear with closed toe and heel (with flat soles), no sandals or slip-off shoes.

Your stomach area will need to be covered and long hair must be tied back.

Who can participate in the Treetop Adventure at Go Ape Chelmsford?

You can participate in the Treetop Challenge at Go Ape Chelmsford if you're: 

  • Minimum height: 1m/3ft 2in
  • Maximum weight: 139kg/20.5st

Please note: There should be a ratio of one participating adult (18+) to supervise up to two children aged under six while on the course. Participants are required to move their own safety line. Under 6's must have a supervising adult up on the course with them.

An adult (18+) can supervise up to eight children aged 6-15 years and from the ground or on the activity. We recommend children under 1.2m tall have an adult with them on the course in case they need any help.

Will Go Ape activities proceed in bad weather?

Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning. Rain makes the course muddier than usual - which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather.

Sometimes, unfortunately, course may need to be closed for reasons beyond Go Ape's control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.
