We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather so bring along a mac if it’s raining!

You need to make sure you have the correct footwear with closed toe and heel (with flat soles), no sandals or slip-off shoes.

Your stomach area will need to be covered and long hair must be tied back.

You can participate in the Treetop Challenge at Go Ape Chelmsford if you're:

  • Minimum height: 1.4m/4ft 7in
  • Maximum weight: 130kg/20.5st

Please note: There should be a ratio of one participating adult (18+) to supervise up to four children aged under 13 while on the course. There should also be at least one spectating adult (18+) to supervise up to eight children aged 13-15 from the ground or on the activity.

Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity! The course remains open in all weathers, except when it is icy, stormy, in high winds or during lightning. Rain makes the course muddier than usual - which all adds to the fun! Don’t forget to dress for the weather.

Sometimes, unfortunately, course may need to be closed for reasons beyond Go Ape's control, if this happens you will be given a full refund.
