From the creative mind behind Florence, Trouble in Mind and Gold Through The Trees, award-winning American playwright Alice Childress brings Wedding Band: A Love/Hate Story in Black and White to London's West End in 2024!

Directed by Monique Touko following the smash-hit success of School Girls: the African Mean Girls play, Wedding Band is set to be the next Broadway blockbuster.

"Stunningly, immediately real," - Seattle Times

Alice Childress brings a star-studded cast to the wonderful West End

Set in the heart of the USA in 1918, interracial marriage was still illegal in the Deep South.

Julia, a black seamstress, and Herman, a white baker, are rebelling against society and defying all odds with their secret love.

Facing vicious judgement from society, close friends and even closer family members, Julia and Herman finally find their ambition and lust for life as their dreams of spending their future together start to become reality.

That is, until, Herman falls victim to the Spanish flu.

Follow Julia as she faces decisions that will change her life, and hopefully save Herman's.

"An unforgettable piece of theatre," - Seattle Weekly
