"Steve wrote great songs for all of us, he made us all sound smarter and funnier than we ever were - and here we are, all together to celebrate what he gave us... It's going to be brilliant." - Harry Hill

The passing of Steve Brown earlier this year left many people with a heavy heart, as the comedy composer (best known for Spitting Image) impacted and influenced the majority that had the pleasure of meeting him.

Now, stars from the world of music, comedy, film and TV will unite to celebrate the life and music of their friend, composer and lyricist, Steve Brown.

Singing Steve Brown hits alongside The Matt Backer Big Band, Steve Brown's stellar career is certainly one to be celebrated.

As a writer of musical theatre, he co-created Spend, Spend, Spend (1998). As a lover of comedy, he worked closely with Rory Bremner, Harry Hill and Steve Coogan on a plethora of TV shows and tours. This experience led to writing the Wonky Donkey jingle for Ant and Dec's SM:TV.

Most notably, Steve Brown starred as the bandleader Glenn Ponder in the latter's Alan Partridge talk show, Knowing Me, Knowing You (1994).

Brown also produced acclaimed debut albums by multi-talented singer-songwriters, Rumer and Laura Mvula, who ended up being nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2013.

In 2014, the comic and friend, Harry Hill, developed the X Factor musical, I Can't Sing, produced by Simon Cowell. In 2022, the duo stormed the stages of London with The Tony Blair Rock Opera.
