Let the adventure begin at Sea Life Blackpool Aquarium

Begin your visit to SEA LIFE Blackpool by heading straight to the fascinating Rockpool.

Here you'll meet interesting creatures such as sea urchins as well as colourful fish and crustaceans. The kids will love holding a crab or running their hand along the spiky texture of a starfish.

Of course, your visit wouldn’t be complete without a walk through the Ocean Tunnel. Sharks and other beautiful creatures will swim above you as you wander through. See if you can spot Phoenix, the giant green sea turtle - she's usually lying around at the end.

We'd also recommend visiting the shark nursery pool where you can see newly hatched bamboo sharks and baby blue-spotted stingrays - they're very cute.

What to expect at Sea Life Blackpool

  • Enter Rainforest Adventure, which is home to piranhas, turtles, and even poison dart frogs. Head to the Rangers Table to get hands-on with the death-head cockroaches, praying mantis, and other fascinating insects.
  • Have you ever seen a seahorse as small as your baby finger? In Seahorse Kingdom, you can do just that. It’s also home to some more familiar creatures too - the kids will love pointing out Nemo and Dory.
  • Throughout the aquarium, there are plenty of information points, as well as talks and feeding times where you can learn even more about the creatures and ask all those burning questions.
  • Located right on the seafront at Blackpool, this all-weather attraction is perfect for visitors as well as locals, looking for something exciting to enjoy.

How to get to Sea Life Blackpool Aquarium

Blackpool North train station is less than one mile away if you plan on arriving by train, and there are plenty of buses to the town centre from there.

You could also catch a tram - a great way to see the sights of Blackpool. If you’re driving, the Central car park is pay and display and right behind the aquarium.

It'll take you around two hours to explore the whole aquarium, so why not continue the fun by meeting the stars at Madame Tussauds or braving the dungeon?
