There are three timeslots to choose from. The earlier timeslots have less scares and frights so would be more suitable for very young children, but all times are family-friendly.

As twilight descends upon Ushaw, an eerie enchantment begins to brew...
Step into the luminous woods and meet beloved fairy tale figures like never before. Embark on an all-new trail set within Ushaw’s historic grounds. Choose from three time slots, each more spine-chilling than the last. Though designed for family fun, beware – the later the hour, the deeper the fright. Can you brave the trail’s darkest depths?
At the end of your timeslot, the theatre troupe promises a finale that will leave you spellbound!

Gardens & Grounds
Ushaw, Durham, DH7 7DW
- Parking is included with entry tickets
- Food vendors will be onsite during the evenings including: Wood Fired Pizzas, Street Food & other refreshments
Dogs are allowed to visit the gardens at Ushaw with some restrictions:
- Dogs on leads or under control at all times are allowed in the Bounds Café area and Ornamental Gardens.
- Dogs may be permitted off leads prior and after opening times or when the Bounds is empty.
- Dogs may be off leads in the Meadow.
- Dogs are welcome to the Gardens and Parkland, however they must remain on a lead in some areas.
- Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted inside the Main House & Chapels.
There are Accessible Parking spaces next to the entrance with 24 hours access. There is also a wheelchair-friendly entrance to all buildings including chapels, tearoom, theatre and exhibition spaces. The Ornamental Gardens have pathways that are suitable for wheelchairs and other walking aides.
Welby’s Café is open 11am-3pm daily. Serving a selection of hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches, pastries & salad options.
