If you’ve never been to London before, you might only know the city through the eyes of the wizarding world, where you’d be more likely to see the Hogwarts Express pulling out from Kings Cross Station, rather than a train destined for Birmingham.

But we think you should hang on to that idea for just a little longer, because there’s plenty of time to wander the capital and discover the real London – but it’s not every day you get to step foot inside a world of magic.

Your day of all things Harry Potter begins in the city, where you’ll hop on a coach at Victoria Coach Station.

After a short trip, you’ll be dropped off at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, where the adventure really begins.

Into the wizarding world

So where will it be first? How about a wander down Diagon Alley?

Check out the wands in Ollivanders shopfront lying in wait for the right wizard or witch to come and claim them.

Then wander further down the cobbled street to Gringotts Wizarding Bank, before making your way to Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.

It’s impossible to resist the charm of the Weasley twins’ storefront, shining out in lively orange paint.

Seeing Diagon Alley on the screen is magical enough, but when you can feel the curve of the cobbled stones under your feet and hear the excitement of fellow Potterheads wandering by, it’s completely unique; one you’ll happily be reminded of every time the films come on.

Down Privet Drive

But it’s not only the magical side of Harry Potter that so many of us have adored for so long.

Take a trip to the muggle world and visit four Privet Drive, the house where we all first met the boy wizard.

Then before you know it, you’ll be back at Hogwarts, wandering through the Great Hall where Harry, Ron, and Hermione spent many a night feasting to their heart’s content.
