Applewood's Halloween Spooktacular is suitable for all ages! All visitors under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Applewood Countryside Park is committed to making Halloween Spooktacular a safe and enjoyable
experience for all guests.

Parking & Arrival

• Enter the Banham Zoo car park and follow the entry route left all the way down to the end.
• Halloween Spooktacular is at Orchard Barn – the event will be clearly signed from the main
  road (Kenninghall Road, B1113) through the car park to the event entrance.
• The main approach to the event car park is via a tarmac road, then onto a grass parking
  space with loose gravel pathways. This area is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs but
  maybe uneven.
• Accessible parking spaces are located close to the event entrance.

Grounds & Surfaces

• The event takes place both undercover (Orchard Barn) and outdoors (Friendly Frights Walk,
  Wicked Haunts Trail, bonfire and fireworks).
• The indoor area is a flat, even concrete surface that is fully accessible throughout.
  Outdoor areas include grass and a natural woodland walk with a bark chipping surface.
• These areas may become soft or uneven in wet weather, making access more challenging for
  pushchairs and wheelchair users. Sturdy shoes or welly boots are advisable.
• Guests requiring the use of mobility equipment and pushchairs are strongly advised to
  consider their off-road capabilities.
• Some areas are lit with atmospheric lighting to enhance the Halloween experience. While
  the team aim to keep pathways visible, there may be sections with lower light levels, therefore
  guests may wish to bring a small torch for additional visibility.

Spooky Walks

• The team have a choice of spooky walks with 1 x entry per person to either the Friendly Frights
  Walk or Wicked Haunts Trail included in the ticket price.
• Friendly Frights Walk is a shorter, gentler route for those who prefer more giggles than gasps.
• It is approx. 10-20mins and open between 4pm-6pm.
• Wicked Haunts Trail is perfect for those looking for a true Halloween thrill. It is a longer route
  of approx. 20-30mins and open between 6pm-8.30pm.
• Both walks will feature live scare actors, theming, props, décor, lighting and sound effects/
  music of a Halloween nature.

Facilities

• An accessible toilet for wheelchair users and those requiring additional room/ support will
  be available. Access is via a radar key, alternatively please speak to a member of staff for
  access.
• Baby changing facilities are available – please speak to a member of staff for access.

Seating & Rest Areas

• Undercover picnic style bench seating and straw bales will be available during the event.

Sensory Considerations

• This event features flashing lights, loud sound effects, fake blood, and Halloween themed
  decorations which may be unsettling for some guests.
• Fireworks are low noise and set to music but may still include sudden bangs – headphones
  may be useful for those with sound sensitivities.
• There will be a children’s disco and a live band throughout the evening, so again headphones
  may be useful for those with sound sensitivities.
• Quieter areas are available for guests who wish to take a break from sensory stimulation.

Assistance Animals

• Due to the nature of this event it is not suitable for dogs (registered assistance dogs are
  exempt).
• Please be aware that while fireworks are low noise and set to music, they may still
  include sudden bangs.

• Ticket Information: Each ticket includes parking, venue access, and one-time entry to either the Friendly Frights Walk or Wicked Haunts Trail. Guests also gain access to the disco, selfie station, live music performances, fireworks display, and bonfire. Standard tickets do not cover purchases from street food vendors, the light-up toy stall, sparklers, or face painting - these extras are available at an additional cost.
• Ticket Policy: All tickets are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued due to adverse weather conditions or other force majeure events. In the rare case that the event must be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, attendees will be notified promptly and issued a full refund, minus the transaction fee.
• Respect the Scare Actors: Scare actors are strictly prohibited from making physical contact with guests, and guests are expected to extend the same courtesy. Any form of physical or verbal abuse toward staff will not be tolerated.
• Outdoor Trail Advisory: Both the Friendly Frights and Wicked Haunts walks take place outdoors along wooded paths featuring bark chippings, grass, and gravel. These surfaces may be uneven or wet, so attendees are advised to wear suitable footwear and waterproof clothing.
• Accessibility Notice: Guests using mobility aids or pushchairs should carefully consider the off-road nature of the trails. For more details, refer to the event’s Accessibility Information.
• Health & Safety Guidance: The Wicked Haunts Walk may not be suitable for individuals sensitive to flashing or strobe lighting, those with asthma, heart conditions, or anyone who is pregnant or particularly nervous. Participation is at the guest’s discretion.
• Costume Rules: Hoods and masks must be removed during both spooky walks. Torches may be used sparingly and respectfully.
• Filming Policy: Photography and video recording - including the use of camera phones - is strictly prohibited during the Friendly Frights and Wicked Haunts walks.
