Book Our Country's Good tickets now for a great stage production in London
Timberlake Wertenbaker, the playwright behind Britannicus and After Darwin and director Rachel O'Riordan (A Doll's House, Iphigenia in Splott) invite you to London this year to witness the brand-new spectacular stage show, Our Country's Good!
Based on the extraordinary true story of Australia's first penal colony, Our Country's Good takes on new meaning and relevance as it stands out amongst the backdrop of 2024's Broadway industry.
A classic theatre performance in the heart of the West End
Thomas Barrett. Aged 17. Crimes: Stealing one sheep. Punishments: Transported for seven years.

A ship, sailing 15,000 miles to Australia, is crammed with British convicts. This boat trip is their punishment, and after a life-threatening voyage, they finally reach the shores of Aus.
However, life on land is different to the vicious vessel - it's even worse. Keeping the colony disciplined is a brutal job, and cruelty is rife.
But young and ambitious lieutenant Ralph Clark is determined to civilise the often desperate, violent, poverty-stricken group by introducing them to the world of drama and ordering them to perform a play.
With a mostly illiterate cast, rising mistrust amongst the ranks and the leading actor facing the gallows, this one-of-a-kind theatre production delicately examines the power and justice within the British justice system.
"Spewed from our country, forgotten, bound to the dark edge of the earth..." - Thomas Barrett (17)
