The UK's Ocean City

There are many reasons to visit Plymouth in Devon. Not only does it have one of the largest naval bases on Earth, but some famous pirates also called this home!

To learn more about their history and heritage, we recommend you go check out Appledore’s museum or head down south for The Brixham Pirate Festival where you can see artefacts from these tumultuous times.

Ideally situated in the South West, Plymouth was the perfect launchpad for some of the world's most famous explorers including Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, Ernest Shackleton and Henry Avery.

Fancy setting sail yourself? Take the ferry across to Lundy Island and get up close and personal with the South West's largest puffin colony!
